Agriculture Technology Specialist

We are looking for an exceptional Agriculture Technology Specialist to join our team in Stony Plain, AB. Experience as a Precision Agriculture Specialist, Field Service Technician/Agriculture Equipment Technician or GIS Specialist would be preferred.

What makes the role exciting and what does it involve?

  • Providing training to the sales team on how agriculture technology and how they can add value to a customer’s farming operation.
  • Facilitating training events and clinics for customers and employees.
  • Promoting, installing, and troubleshooting agriculture technology products such as:
    • Guidance (GPS) and steering systems;
    • Displays (including data transfers and merging files);
    • Application control systems;
    • Software updates; and,
    • In field calibrations.
  • Building and maintaining long-term relationships with clients.
  • Supporting clients for a designated service radius for multiple branch locations.

What are we looking for?

  • Diploma in GIS (Global Information Systems), Information Technology with some farming experience, Techgronomy, Agribusiness or certification as an Agriculture Equipment Technician/Heavy Duty AG Mechanic.
  • The candidate will possess, preferably, 3 or more years of experience as a GIS Technician, Precision Agriculture Specialist, Precision Agriculture Sales, Precision Farming Specialist, Agriculture Optimization Specialist or Precision Agronomist.
  • Proficient understanding of farming, using agriculture equipment, and agriculture technology would be preferred.
  • Flexible to work additional hours and to be on call during peak seasons.
  • The role requires traveling to farms to complete work on-site.
  • Able to work independently in the field and can troubleshoot technical issues.
